Because of the lack of awareness for different genders and equality in general, I made a game that teaches you about different pronounces.

For my 3rd semester of year 2 I had to choose a brand and create a product that that brand would want. Because I really wanted to do something with the gender equality, I chose the brand COC, which is a Dutch activist group that speaks for the LGBTQ+ community but mainly want to create a world where everyone is equal.
Because this is a talked about topic and sometimes gets heavily criticized, I chose to make a game. To teach people, in a fun way, about something that could be preserved as new and unknown. It is a game that can be used by anyone, but my main focus was high school students.

High school students are in a period of their time that they are learning so many things about themselves, and that can feel very overwhelming. By teaching these students that being different is okay, you create a safe place for students to form themselves and find people they could talk to about these topics. But doing a class about this stuff would make it feel like they must learn, and that is not what I want. This subject is important, but I don’t feel like it should be mandatory to learn about as if it was another history class. I think that through a game, you could learn someone without having to tell them something. That’s why I wanted to make a game instead of a booklet or a class program. I want it to be interactive and fun to do, and I want it to be multi-functional. This game can be changed, by changing the characters and switching genders to sexualities you would also learn about those. It just shows that the way you can teach someone about something that could be part of casual every day life is easy to teach in a fun way.
